Nurturing your farming business – SR and Harrowells Event
A superb turnout last Friday with 70 guests at our farming event run jointly with @Harrowells and concentrating on the theme of ‘Nurturing your farming business’. Guest speakers included Kevin Hollinrake, MP for Thirsk and Malton, and Robert Daniel, farmer, agronomist and finalist in Farmers Weekly’s recent Arable Adviser of the Year awards. Kevin and Robert both gave their take on current issues facing farmers in our part of the world.
StephensonsRural’s Rod Cordingley BSc FRICS FAAV and Harrowells’ Edward Ryder also talked around some of the practical considerations concerning land values, diversification and succession planning.
The event concluded with a Q&A session, which really did explore a number of the issues our clients are facing, and how we can all meet these challenges collaboratively and ensure that their farming businesses are well-equipped and prosper in the future.
The event was held in the Bidding Room of Duggleby Stephenson at the York Auction Centre, with some fabulous catering laid on by Anita Tasker. Many thanks to Edward Stephenson for chairing the event and to Henry Scott, Sarah Hogg, Chris Muir, Richard Tasker, Johnny Cordingley, Beth Dickinson, Mary Foster, Jenni Bartram, Anita Cooper, Katie I’Anson, Susie Mortonson, Matt Rowley, Paul Burkinshaw and Philip Williams for helping out on the night.
