Rural England Prosperity Fund (REPF)– What Grants are on offer in North Yorkshire?
Support for rural business to develop new products and facilities have formerly been able to obtain EU funding via schemes like the European – funded LEADER and Growth Programme (RDPE). The RDPE provided support for farms and estates to develop their food processing businesses, diversity into rural tourism or invest in farm equipment that improved their competitiveness.
As EU funding becomes a distant memory, the UK government has introduced new methods of supporting these projects. In difference to previous schemes, the REPF is being delivered by local authorities rather than centrally, part of a wider scheme, the UK shared prosperity fund.
£5.4 million has been allocated in North Yorkshire for the REPF:
Eligible Rural Grants will include support for new and existing rural businesses to develop new products and facilities that will benefit the wider local economy – this would suggest farm businesses looking to diversify.
So, if you have an idea to develop or diversify your rural business, introduce new technology or launch new products, it may be worth exploring. Please following the below link to the North Yorkshire Council website for further details, including the application process:
