Slurry Infrastructure Grant – now open!
The first stage of the Slurry Infrastructure Grant (SIG) “eligibility checker” opens on 6th December 2022 until 31st January 2023. There is funding available towards slurry storage from four months as an existing requirement of the Silage, Slurry and Agricultural Fuel Oil) SSAFO rules to meet the Farming Rules for Water (FRFW) to six months. With emphasis on utilising slurries to meet crop need and changes in the FRFW likely becoming legislation soon, farmers are encouraged to act whilst this funding is available. If you choose to go beyond six months this will be funded privately.
The grant is competitive with the RPA prioritising areas where funding will reduce air and water pollution from agriculture. Funding is capped at six months storage based on existing livestock numbers. If your project is eligible and in a priority area you will be invited to make a full application by 28th June 2024. The minimum grant is £25,000 up to a maximum of £250,000. The contributions are based on 50% of the current market costs.
To discuss the Slurry Infrastructure Grant in more detail or for an informal chat checking priority areas, please contact Chris Muir on 01904 489731 chris.muir@stephenson.co.uk
